You want another reason? There are a lot fewer good articles about hobbyist robotics nowadays.

I know that hobbies ebb and flow. But, I was saddened the other day when I refreshed my links page.

• The Seattle Robotics Society rarely publishes Encoder anymore.
• Online activity of the robot clubs have declined.
• Some of the classic robot retailers seem as dead as the outdoor mall.
• Many of my favorite builders no longer update their websites.

I know that writing articles takes a tremendous amount of work. Heck, creating a robot takes a tremendous amount of work. Over the last six months I’ve freely posted a huge number of fresh articles online. Easily several hundred printed pages.
