CHIBOTS MEETING: AUGUST 12, 2001
Left to right: John Orlando, David Wooden, John Patrick, Brian Schwartz, Leon Sorokin, Clifford Boerema, Jim Munro, Tom Gralewicz, Don Kerste, and David Cook (photographer)
The meeting was a blast, as usual. Eleven people attended, all regulars.
John displayed a table full of photographs from RoboCup 2001, held in Seattle. He was really impressed with the quality and quantity of the robots. John encouraged people to attend the event in future years.
John brought an Albion catalog featuring John's BattleBot, Fusion (R.I.P.). The catalog was very slick and the picture of Fusion is quite prominent.
David showed a working mini-Sumo robot he's building. For now, the robot is wired to a remote control for testing. Ultimately, the robot will have some onboard brains for autonomous action.
The four squishy wheels have excellent traction. The robot is fast and stable.

After the meeting, David Wooden and Brian Schwartz experimented with the mini-Sumo robot on a regulation mini-Sumo ring.

We hope to see you at the next meeting!
